1-Bit Symphony

Monday, 21 June, 2010

1-Bit Symphony by Tristan Perich is not a CD recording, although coming in a CD jewel case, but an electronic circuit that “performs” its music live when turned on.
I love things like that.

Best CD cover ever

Monday, 25 January, 2010

Several times today this beautiful CD cover appeared in my reader and several times I read something about an “interactive” CD cover. The fact that you can trigger this (albeit amazing) effect only one single time upon opening, makes this sleeve just about as interactive as a firecracker, nevertheless I remembered what I intendet to post already a while ago. I do have a real interactive CD cover lying around here at home.
The CD cover of the Awesome Edition of Moldovers album of the same title is itself a musical instrument namely a theremin. At the moment you’ll have to settle with the video above, but maybe I’ll post a performance of myself here later.
The album can be ordered in the shop on Moldover’s website.

Misa Digital Guitar

Monday, 18 January, 2010

This digital guitar by Misa definitely looks more like a real instrument than just another Guitar Hero controller. As the software is open source, new effects can be prorgramed individually.
The guitar instrument is purchasable via their website, no price stated though.

Birds on a Wire

Tuesday, 8 September, 2009

An interesting idea had Jarbas Agnelli, when a picture of Paulo Pinto caught his eye while reading the newspaper. On the picture there where birds sitting on electric wire. The birds reminded him of notes on the staff, so he decided to transfer the exact position of the birds onto notes on a score.

Apple Store Kid

Thursday, 13 August, 2009

Nicholi White is the name of this highly entertaining young fella, lip-synching miscellaneous hip hop songs and posting them to his youtube page for the world to see.
Now there are thousands of teens that are nothing short of his, but what makes Nicholi’s vlog so special, is that he does this from an Apple Store in New York City, where lots of computers with internet connection are available to him free of charge. The whole thing smells like viral marketing, but up to now nobody has come out. Asside from that, isn’t the idea that this could really be an exceptional hobby by a New Yorker kid, that otherwise couldn’t afford a computer, simply to good?
Nicholi, i am a fan!
